What is PRP?

A hair loss solution. The field of medicine is using Platelet rich plasma(PRP) treatment over a number of years. In past years, the use of PRP for hair loss treatment has increased. It is a painless process but requires some patience to have perfect results.

PRP Procedure:

The process takes places in few stages.

PRP hair treatment procedure

Stage 1:

This step involves simple extraction of blood from Patient's own body. It is same as a sample taking for routine blood tests.

Stage 2:

The blood is then placed in a centrifuge. Centrifuge separates the platelet rich plasma from the blood. This step actually gives us the required PRP that we use later for the injection.

Stage 3:

Meanwhile step 3 is to make the targeted areas numb. It is to make patient feel comfortable. This step uses a "Scalp Roller" which makes the process more easy, quick and comfortable.

Stage 4:

The last step is the process of re-injecting the PRP into the specific areas with the help of small needles. As all the areas are numb so there will be no discomfort for the patient.

For whom it works?

Anyone facing hair loss can be a nominee for PRP treatment. It is good to treat early hair loss with PRP. It can restrict further hair loss and hair damage.

PRP treatment is not suitable for:

  • Patients suffering from any blood disease or any thyroid problems.
  • Patients on blood thinners.

In the first condition there is excessive hair loss that's why PRP treatment is not suggested.

while, blood thinners effect blood platelets that will disrupts the effectiveness of treatment.

Why PRP?

There are many reasons to prefer this technique.

  • First of all it is a non-surgical treatment.
  • Most of the patients need a safe and easy to go treatment. A single session of PRP need not more than one hour or depend upon the affected area.
  • Moreover, it not only reduce the hair loss but also thickens the hair texture.

Results

For best results, agreement is important. The patient receives treatment once a month for the first three months. Afterwards, once in a three to six months depending on the patient's response.

At first, patients face reduced hair loss followed by thickening of hair. Thus leading to the increased hair growth. Yet, we can see the expected results within two to three months.
